"...Like a new England landscape, with farmhouses and villages, and cultivated spots, and belts of forests and blueberry swamps round about, with the fragrance of shad-blossoms and violets on certain winds." (Henry David Thoreau)
The New England gallery celebrates the northeast region of our country. Most of the designs are of Maine and Massachusetts - their magnificent coasts. I especially focus on Cape Cod, an area I once called home and still hold dear to my heart. It is a place that Henry David Thoreau once described as "the bended arm of Massachusetts". It is one of the most famous and magnificent capes in the world. This distinctly American region is rich in history and culture as well as natural beauty. In this collection you will find designs that feature sand dunes and seascapes, cat boats and sailboats, lighthouses and typical Cape houses, rose arbors and hydrangeas, sea gulls and seashells - those unique 'gifts from the sea'. From cranberries to blueberries to bayberries and lavender, these are just a few of the watercolor images that are contained in this collection.
